About us

We are Mia and Gianluca, an Italian family who decided to chase a dream and turn it into everyday life. A few years ago, we left Italy with our children to start a new adventure in Costa Rica — in Cahuita, a small corner of paradise overlooking the Caribbean Sea.

It wasn’t a leap into the unknown, but a journey made of conscious choices, challenges faced step by step, and questions that required real answers. We’ve learned to listen to a different rhythm, to live more slowly, and to rediscover what truly matters: connection with nature, freedom of time, and the simplicity of human relationships.

Our children, growing up between the green of the jungle and the blue of the ocean, remind us every day of the value of this choice. Seeing them free, curious, and surrounded by nature is one of the greatest gifts this country has given us.

In this new chapter of our lives, Playa Grande Lodge was born — a place where we welcome travelers from all over the world and share the authentic beauty of our adopted land. But something deeper was born too: the desire to guide those who feel the call of this country but don’t know where to start.

With Costa Rica Project, we want to offer not just practical information, but above all a genuine, lived perspective on what it really means to change your life. We don’t sell dreams — we share real experiences. And we do it with heart, with the knowledge of those who’ve been through it, and with the humanity of those who understand how important it is to have someone by your side during moments of transition.
